Senior Team

In 2023, every member of the Waterloo Region District School Board (WRDSB) Senior Team continued to demonstrate their commitment to supporting all parts of our organization in our most important work: providing every student we serve with the opportunity to learn, grow and reach their fullest potential in our schools.  

 

With this in mind, Senior Team members successfully completed part one of the Global Innovation Management Institute’s certification in partnership with Smart Waterloo Region. The Senior Team participates in professional development and engagement opportunities as we continue to promote a culture of human rights and build our leadership framework based on the sovereignty affirming and equity competencies. We continue this work and take what we’ve learned to transform education to better serve our students and communities.

 

During the 2023-24 school year, WRDSB published the Transforming Education: How the WRDSB is preparing students for a changing world Thought Paper, which outlines how we transform how we teach and engage with students in their learning as we look toward the 22nd century. To help students to be successful in the changing world, our vision is focused on:

• Building strong foundations for learning

• Centring students and their well-being

• Supporting students’ pathways

• Innovating through design thinking

• Collaborating with families and communities.

As we continue to transform education from within the WRDSB, we are leading conversations with educators, government officials and thought leaders in education provincially, nationally and globally to really move the needle in order to make systemic change. The DreamEd initiative, which was launched in June 2024, highlights ways we can work together across the education sector, alongside industry thought leaders, to reimagine the future of the education system.
